Water Supply in Arrah
The city gets its water supplies from the Son River filtered through several processing plants and reaches the beneficiaries. Apart from this, the city also has affluent ground water resources to cater to the people of Arrah. The city being agrarian is extremely reliant on the ground water resources for their agricultural activities. The government also has dug several bore-wells and is stored in the over head tanks maintained by the water department which then goes through the chlorination units and is then supplied through pipelines to the town. That apart the city also has public hand pumps provided by the water board. Owing to the increase in population and industrial development the government alongside with several non-government charitable organizations have taken up projects to preserve water like accomplishment of rain water harvesting and regulatory endorsement for ground water extraction.
